Bake the saltines in a 400 degree oven for 5 minutes. (if there is excess room on the cookie sheet, fold up the foil so the crackers stay close together and the butter doesn't seep away from the crackers.) combine sugar and melted butter (the sugar will not dissolve).

Toffee bar recipe with saltines. Melt butter and sugar over medium/low heat. Line jelly roll pan with foil. Then line a jelly roll baking sheet with foil.

Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips and let it sit. Place the wrapped saltine cracker english toffee, in a plastic container, with a lid so there is no other other getting to it. Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the saltines.
Bake the toffee crackers for 5 minutes, until the toffee is bubbling all over. To serve, break pieces of cracker toffee apart and place onto a plate. Sprinkle with preferred toppings of nuts, pretzels, candies, or sea salt, if using.
This helps with clean up and breaking the toffee up once it’s done, so you definitely don’t want to skip this step. When it begins to bubble, cook for 3 minutes while stirring. Saltine cracker toffee is a simple and tasty snack to prepare for unexpected visitors or just for a night in.
Brush the side of the pan with a moistened pastry brush to wash down any sugar. Melt on some chocolate chips and make it festive with the sprinkles and you’re ready to party after a quick chill in the fridge! Cover bottom of pan with saltines.
Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and set out the saltine crackers on top. Melt the butter and brown sugar together in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves, stirring as required until the caramel comes to a boil. Either way is perfectly delicious!
Sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired. So just have fun with it! After the 3 minutes, you’ll pour the mixture over the saltine crackers and spread it around.
